As we celebrate this year’s Pride Month, we’re looking back at June 2025, when Parallel Voices and The Night Temple co-hosted “Echoes Beyond: Queer Creators, Hidden Voices, and Global Resonance”, a panel highlighting LGBTQ+ voices across the creative industries.
To continue carrying that energy forward, we're sharing a series of previously unreleased reflections from our panelists.
In this clip, composer and filmmaker Oscar Pan @oscarpanmusic reflects on his documentary about his mother, a deeply personal project that explores family, identity, and acceptance. He discusses how his mother's own life experiences made it difficult for her to accept her son's coming out, and how the process of making the film allowed him to see her from a new perspective.
Through that journey, Oscar developed a deeper sense of empathy and compassion for his mother while also finding healing within himself. His story reminds us that understanding does not always begin with agreement, but often with the willingness to listen, to see, and to hold space for one another's experiences.
Sometimes, compassion begins at home. ❤️
